It wasn’t long until I go on my Vipassana retreat and while still on my spiritual quest I came across Quantum Touch which works with “universal life force energy” or Qi and this intrigued me. I was reading information from their website based in the U.S. I couldn’t find any practitioners here in Australia and thought I could get their book and maybe go over there one day to learn it. I wasn’t sure when I could do that as this wasn’t too long after my accident and I still wasn’t working, but anything is possible right?

A few weeks had passed and I was doing my BodyTalk sessions across the road and I mentioned it to my practitioner Jacleen and as it happened she knew about Quantum Touch and had the book I was going to buy. Not only did she lend me the book but she personally knew the first and only Australian Quantum Touch practitioners Annette and Travas Jarman. Don’t you just love how the Universe works for you some times?

I was given their contact details and at the time they where in the U.S. doing the advanced Quantum Touch course which allowed them to become fully qualified practitioners. They where due back in a few weeks and where starting up courses in different cities around Australia. I paid my deposit for a 2 day course and went on my Vipassana meditation retreat. When I finished the retreat I paid the remaining balance. The course was due to start in 2 weeks.

The course was held in a function room in Logan, 20 minutes from the city. There where hotel rooms at this place and we could get a discount because we where doing the course. I took my partner at the time with me and we made a weekend of it.

The course was fantastic. There are exercises to get the energy flowing and you place your hands on the patient where the energy needed to go. It is a matter of getting your own energy to a high frequency and the patients subconsciously raises their energy to attune to yours, this is what does the healing. The practitioner doesn’t actually do any healing as such, their job is to raise their own energy as high as they can. The patient, unbenknownst to them, raise their own energy to “match” yours.

We did an experiment with some wine where the instructors handed out 2 small glasses of wine to each of us. We put one aside and “charged” the other one with energy. We tasted each afterwards and you could really taste the difference. The one we charged with energy lost pretty much all of it’s flavour compared to the untouched one. The instructors say when they do this with children they use soft drink and it removes all the bubbles. I’ve done this since and does work. They could also get the bubbles to return, I haven’t been able to do that yet.

We took turns in working on each other and there where some people with different past injuries that still caused them grief. A story worth mentioning is one of the students, he must have been in his 60’s, had problems for many years with his feet. We where given some exercises to do when going to sleep after the first day. When we all met up for the second day we shared anything that we experienced over night. This person who had sore feet said that for the first time in a long time he could get out of bed, put his feet on the floor and there was no pain. He was so excited to share that with us all. My own experience was that my partner went out to the beach with a friend during the day and had slight heat stroke and had a head ache. I put my hands on his forehead and raised my energy. It was only about 20 seconds when he said “stop, it feels weird I don’t like it”. I said “please just relax, give it 1 minute and I will stop”. I kept my hands there for not quiet a minute and he was relaxed and his head ache was gone. I shared that with the class the next day also.

I had forgotten how good it was and how it made me feel until I started writing about it. I will have to read the book again and start practicing. My energy hasn’t been as strong as it was before my accident but I’m sure the reason is because I haven’t worked on it enough. Here is a photo that someone took of our session and is on our instructors website. They are still holding courses now. In this photo, Travas one of the instructors was working on me and the other instructor Annette was working on another class mate.

An experience I’ve had with QT a while after my course was with my Dad, he died of an aggressive brain tumour. He was in a Hospice for the last 3 days of his life and on the last night we where called to say that he might not last the night so the family who could go did and it was a sight that I would remember for the rest of my life. He was laying in his bed eyes open but without recognition and he was gasping for air. I wanted to do QT on him for a while be he was always laying on the wrong side and I couldn’t reach where his tumour was. This time he was laying where I could lay my hands properly and I got my energy moving and when I laid my hands on the left side of his head he instantly calmed his breathing down. Mum was saying thank you, it was hard to see him gasping like that. He stopped breathing twice for about 15-20 seconds but I could just tell it wasn’t the end. The third time he stopped breathing that was it, he was gone. I am so glad I was there to share his final moments and even though he was not responsive to anything else I know that QT helped on his final moments and maybe he just wasn’t in as much pain.

Occasionally I had practised on my friends and family and everyone always said they found it so relaxing. I did think that I could learn massage and use QT with it. I have heard that people do that and they get a great reputation for being really good and the word of mouth spread. My accident basically took over 3 years from my life but I am ready to get back into things now. I suppose if I do the things that I’ve always wanted to do, the time has not been wasted. My work colleague does Acupuncture at a college not too far from here and they also do massage therapy. I will have a look into it again.
