What is the Tarot?
The Tarot is a deck of cards that is primarily used to forecasting the future. However, this is only a superficial use of the massive powers of the Tarot. The Tarot is a very powerful tool that allows you to look deep inside your subconscious and "see" the direction your life is taking. It is a tool that is inexpensive, easy to use, and entirely reliable if used correctly. It is a tool whose power has been authenticated through centuries of use.
The history of tarot cards is somewhat of a mystery. There are several versions of its history. Some claim that tarot cards originated in China, while others claim India or Egypt. Some think that in the late 14th century, the tarot cards first appeared in their present form. Others believe that the cards were introduced into Western Europe by the gypsies in the 15th century.
The earliest tarot decks were always hand-made, and some were even designed by notable artists. One of the more famous decks was designed by Albrecht Dürer.
The Tarot cards are read by an intuitive (psychic) person who is able to interpret the ancient symbols and also use a special sensitivity to tap into energies that surround the person and the issue presented. With practice, almost anyone can be proficient in reading the Tarot.
The Tarot is a set of 78 cards used in divination or to explore the unconscious. The 56 cards in the “minor arcana” are divided into four suits: wands (symbolizing action); cups (emotions); swords (intellect); and pentacles (material concerns). The 22 cards of the “major arcana” depict archetypes and elemental forces.
